Klonopin is a benzodiazepine that acts by facilitating and helping the effects
of inhibitory neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid. It is recommended for
Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, akinetic and myoclonic seizures and atypical absence seizures.
It is also a treatment for status epilepticus and panic disorders.
Klonopin may cause drowsiness, behavioral disturbances, ataxia, slurred speech,
confusion, tremor, agitation and depression.
